The Rogue River is our most popular family rafting adventure. Experience the beauty and adventure on this 3-day journey through 33 miles of the Rogue River’s Wild & Scenic wilderness section. Trips begin at the Galice Resort near Merlin, Oregon, just 25 miles from Grants Pass. After a morning orientation and packing session, we hit the river, starting with thrilling rapids at Graves Creek and Grave Creek Falls. For safety, guests walk around Rainie Falls while guides expertly navigate the tricky channels. Keep your camera ready to capture salmon leaping at the falls!
Each day offers a mix of activities to suit all interests, from hikes to scenic swimming holes to visits to historic sites like Zane Grey’s fishing camp. Wildlife sightings of black bears and bald eagles are common along the riverbanks. Highlights include the dramatic Mule Creek Canyon and the technical challenge of Blossom Bar Rapid. Evenings are spent at riverside camps, perfect for exploring, swimming, or relaxing with a book and a glass of wine. The trip concludes near Agness, Oregon, with a scenic return drive through the rugged Siskiyou Mountains.
What's it like?
Each day the guides will have coffee on between 6:30 am and 7:00 am and breakfast is served at 8:00 am. We start packing up at 9:00 am and try to be on the river by 10:00 am. Each day on the river is different and actual activities are chosen according to the general interests of the group. There are a wide variety of short hikes, swimming holes on side creeks, historic sites and places of interest to linger. You’ll also have the opportunity to move from raft to raft, relaxing in the oar raft, joining a crew in a paddle raft or going solo in an inflatable kayak. Learn more about the Types of Rafts.
