"Surfing" a big wave on the North Umpqua
Close to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, the North Umpqua River is well off the beaten track; there are no major airports or large tourist cities nearby. For those seeking relaxation and inspiration in the outdoors, a whitewater rafting trip on the North Umpqua is guaranteed to deliver. Our 2-day North Umpqua River rafting trip explores 25 to 30 exciting miles between Boulder Flat Campground and Susan Creek Campground. With dozens of significant rapids in just as many miles, our North Umpqua trip delivers one of the most fun and enjoyable paddle rafting experiences in Oregon. In between the rapids, marvel at the majestic moss and lichen hung forests – and keep an eye out for osprey and water ouzels! All trips meet at the Gravel Bin Boat Ramp near the Steamboat Inn on Hwy 138 (40 miles east of Roseburg). After the first day of rafting, we will drive to a pre-selected campsite close by. We supply all of your camping gear and our guides will set up camp and prepare delicious meals, allowing you the time to enjoy your surroundings. After a hot breakfast the next morning, we’ll finish our run on the river. You’ll be armed with stories full of adventure come Monday morning.
| "[The guides] were very professional but had fun as well. You could tell they love their job, which makes the trip more enjoyable for the guests. Also, you could tell they had a lot of experience with the river and how to go down the different rapids. " |
